About
A few years ago, the Bourg family took the initiative in leading the modernization of a hydroelectric power station in Moestroff.
Mr Bourg: ‘From the very beginning, our goal was clear: to preserve and continue the use of hydroelectric power in Moestroff, a tradition that dates back to 1248.
Thanks to government support and various feasibility studies, which revealed that the volume of water available for turbine use at this site could more than double, we ultimately embarked on the restoration of the power station.
The company also received valuable support from SNCI in executing this project, with included the installation of new turbines, a transformer and the restoration of ecological continuity, such as the construction of a fish pass. Today, the plant has a maximum annual output of 1,400 kW/h.
Mr Bourg: ‘Securing financing for a new hydroelectric installation was challenging, as financial institutions were hesitant due to their lack of experience with such projects. However, with the support of SNCI and their ProDevelop programme, we were able to bring this vision to life. We are thrilled with the final outcome and deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to making this project a success.
