About
In 2018, Nazih TRAD made the decision to start his own business by founding Carstec.
The company specializes in all types of bodywork, with a particular focus on converting vehicles for people with reduced mobility.
Originally operating from rented premises, the company quickly became a victim of its own success, as the business experienced significant growth since its creation. The facilities soon became too small to meet demand.
Looking back, what were the main challenges or obstacles your company faced?
Mr. N. TRAD: Finding suitable premises with enough space at an affordable price was particularly difficult for a small business like ours. As a result, we decided to build our own facility instead.
SNCI, through its ProDevelop program, co-financed the construction of their new operational headquarters in Biwer, which now houses a multi-level bodywork workshop.
Mr. N. TRAD: Thanks to SNCI’s expert guidance and financial support, we were able to bring our vision to life. This enabled us to expand our workspace, create new jobs, increase and optimize production, and take meaningful steps toward sustainability, climate protection, and energy efficiency.
What advice would you give to other Luxembourg SMEs facing similar challenges or looking for growth opportunities?
Mr. N. TRAD: Don’t give up — keep going, and make sure to reach out early to your financial partners and to SNCI.
